Educational program interns are critical to the success and sustainability of current and future programs at the Wilbur D. May Arboretum and Botanic Gardens.
The Horticulture Internship Program supports the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens mission to use the garden as a working garden, living laboratory, and educational resource. The Botanic Garden Intern Program offers students a unique opportunity to work with and learn from zoo staff, gain valuable hands-on experience, develop professional contacts within the zoo community, and attend lectures and refresher courses run by staff from various departments. The Guest Services Assistant works with all other departments to ensure that visitors have a positive and memorable experience at the Norfolk Botanic Gardens. The Guest Relations Manager supports the mission by serving as CMBG spokesperson, serving guests a welcome snack at Giardini and introducing them to the range of services and experiences CMBG has to offer. The Guest Experience Supervisor handles any guest issues that team members cannot resolve, passes information from managers to teams, assists staff with scheduling, validation and approval timestamps, and helps manage CMBG’s guest emergencies.

Help with hands-on care for annuals, perennials, shrubs, trees and potted plants at the Louise Cochrane Rose Garden according to the horticultural standards of the Lewis Ginter Botanic Gardens. Complete accurate and up-to-date membership records for all garden plants under their care and ensure all plants are properly labelled. Monitor the building and gardens for things that need to be repaired, cleared or cleaned, and notify the caretaker or maintenance staff in a timely manner.
Work with the property manager to ensure that the garden is properly lit during business hours, including weekdays and weekends. Willingness to work evenings and weekends as determined by the Director of Special Events and Associate Director of Special Events to meet Garden requests.
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Weddings and Special Events, this person will participate with event staff at weddings and special events at the Botanic Gardens. This employee will work full-time with the horticulturalist and be involved in all aspects of plant care throughout the site, with particular attention to the meticulous maintenance of the Peak Botanical Garden’s exhibits and natural areas.
The Botanical Garden is looking for a part-time seasonal gardener who will convert a full-time gardener to a full-time gardener.
